Rolling mill · Billet transfer junction
Hot billet tracking across the transfer line
Hot billet tracking uses computer vision to follow each billet as it moves between the caster, reheating furnace and rolling mill. Graeon Netra marks each area as a zone on the camera view and keeps a running count per zone, so billet movement is recorded automatically.

What you're seeing
The caster (CCM), reheating furnace (RHF) and trip-line areas are separate zones. Netra follows each glowing billet through them and keeps a running total per zone.

What it changes
- Billet-by-billet movement record
- Hold-ups between stations become visible
- Furnace-to-mill throughput per shift
Frequently asked questions
Does heat and glare affect detection?
The models are trained on footage from the plant's own cameras, including glowing billets, so they are built for those conditions.
Does it need new cameras?
No. Graeon Netra runs on the plant's existing CCTV. The clip on this page shows Netra on real plant footage.
Where does the data go?
Into Graeon ERP and HRMS modules, kept in step with Tally or Oracle through ready connectors; other systems are connected through our API as a project. Alerts also reach the Netra mobile app, email and SMS.
