Computer vision
The field of AI that lets software interpret images and video — recognising objects, people, text and events the way a person watching would.
Graeon Netra applies computer vision to existing CCTV.
Vision AI
Computer vision deployed as a working business system: models watching live camera feeds and turning what they see into alerts, counts and data.
See vision AI running in real plants.
AI video analytics
Software that analyses camera footage automatically instead of people watching screens or reviewing recordings after an incident.
What is AI video analytics?
Object detection
A computer vision task that finds and labels objects in an image or video frame — for example a person, helmet, vehicle or pipe — usually with a bounding box.
Custom object detection
Object detection trained on a company's own products, materials or defects rather than generic categories, so the model recognises what matters on that specific line.
Approved and rejected counting at billet cutting.
Zone monitoring
Drawing virtual areas on a camera view and applying rules to them — counting what enters, flagging who is inside, or alerting when a restricted zone is entered.
Production floor zone monitoring.
Production counting
Counting finished or in-process pieces — pipes, bars, billets, bags — as they move along a line, instead of manual tally sheets.

ANPR
Automatic Number Plate Recognition: reading vehicle registration plates from camera footage, typically to automate gates, boom barriers and vehicle logs.
ANPR gate automation in Industrial Vision AI.
PPE detection
Using computer vision to check whether workers are wearing required personal protective equipment such as helmets, vests, gloves or masks.
AI PPE detection for plant safety.
Face recognition attendance
Marking attendance by recognising enrolled employees' faces on camera at entry and exit, with no card or fingerprint device.
CCTV face recognition attendance.
Proxy attendance
Attendance marked by one person on behalf of another — also called buddy punching — common with cards and shared credentials.
How Neco eliminated 98% of proxy entries.
Dwell time
How long a person stays in a defined area, such as in front of a store counter or display. A key retail and service-speed metric.
Footfall and dwell-time analytics on store CCTV.
Footfall analytics
Counting and analysing the number of people entering a store or area over time to understand peak hours, conversion and staffing needs.
Retail video analytics.
RAG (retrieval-augmented generation)
A way of using generative AI where the system first retrieves relevant records or documents and then writes an answer from them, so answers are grounded in the organisation's own data and can cite sources.
Graeon AI Agents & RAG.
Agentic AI
AI that can plan and carry out multi-step tasks — checking data, taking actions in software and notifying people — rather than only answering a single question.
Agents that act on Netra alerts and ERP events.
ERP
Enterprise Resource Planning: software that runs core business processes — sales, purchase, inventory, manufacturing, billing and accounts — on one shared database.
Graeon ERP for Indian manufacturers.
GSTIN
Goods and Services Tax Identification Number: the 15-character registration number each GST-registered business, or each of its state registrations, holds in India.
Several branches with their own GSTIN in Graeon ERP.
e-Invoice (IRP)
A GST invoice reported to the government's Invoice Registration Portal (IRP), which validates it and returns an invoice reference number and signed QR code.
e-Invoice and e-way bill from your ERP.
e-Way bill
An electronic document generated on the GST e-way bill system (NIC) for the movement of goods, carrying details of the consignment, consignor, consignee and transporter.
Generate e-way bills from the dispatch document.
GRN
Goods Receipt Note: the record created when purchased material is received into stores, used to match the purchase order and the supplier's bill.
Purchase order, GRN, bill and payment in Graeon ERP.
BOM
Bill of Materials: the list of raw materials, components and quantities needed to make one unit of a finished product.
BOMs and production entries in Graeon ERP.
TDL (Tally Definition Language)
Tally's own language for building add-ons that extend TallyPrime — for example, to exchange vouchers and masters with another system.
Graeon's Tally add-on keeps Tally and the ERP in step.
HRMS
Human Resource Management System: software for attendance, shifts, leave, payroll, statutory compliance, recruitment and performance.
Graeon HRMS with CCTV attendance.
Billet
A semi-finished steel product with a square or round cross-section, cast in the steel melt shop (SMS) and later rolled into bars, rods or TMT.
Hot billet tracking on the transfer line.
TMT bar
Thermo-mechanically treated steel bar used as reinforcement in construction, produced by rolling billets through roughing and finishing mills followed by controlled quenching.
Hot bar counting through the roughing mill.
Push pointing
A tube-making step that reduces the end of a tube to a point so it can be gripped and pulled through a die during drawing.
Pipe-by-pipe tracking at push pointing.
Annealing
Heat treatment that heats metal and cools it in a controlled way to soften it and relieve internal stresses, often between drawing passes in tube making.
Annealing furnace in-count monitoring.
